Yesterday, Liz Truss gave her first address to the nation as Prime Minister and appointed her new Cabinet, ensuring we immediately start delivering on the priorities of the British people.

  • We face severe global headwinds caused by Russia’s appalling war in Ukraine and the aftermath of Covid-19 – the British people need us to deliver on the serious issues facing them today and in the long term.
  • That is why the Prime Minister set out her bold vision for Britain in her first address to the nation based on three early priorities: growing the economy through tax cuts and reform; dealing with the energy crisis in the short and long term; and putting our NHS on a firm footing.
  • And our new Cabinet will help deliver on these priorities, representing the depth and breadth of the party – this is a Cabinet that will unify the party, get our economy growing, and deliver for the British people.
  • The United Kingdom has huge reserves of talent, energy, and determination – we will unleash the full potential of our great country and deliver for people in all corners of our United Kingdom.
