Councillors serve their constituents as volunteers, giving up their spare time to public service. Most continue to be employed at the same time, while others have already enjoyed their careers and now contribute to where they live. Councillors are elected every four years and have wide-ranging duties, from taking up constituent enquiries and meeting with businesses and charities, to voting in full council on million-pound budgets.

Saffron Walden Conservative Councillors work together for residents across all three councils in the constituency: Uttlesford District; Chelmsford City; and Essex County. To find out more about what each council does, or to find your Conservative representative, use the tabs provided on the left of the page.

The next District and City Council elections will be held in May 2023. If you would like more information about becoming a councillor or page with further information is here: https://www.saffronwaldenconservatives.com/councillors/becomeacouncillor
