Parish Councillors

Rachel Rands (Stansted South)

Rachel is married with two children and now lives in Forest Hall Park although she has lived in and around the village all her life. She agreed to become a councillor because she wants to ensure Stansted maintain its village qualities and remains an attractive environment for the next generations.

Daphne Wallace-Jarvis (Stansted South)

Daphne has been a Stansted resident for over forty years. Prior to retirement she worked as a Financial Consultant in the public sector. She is Secretary of The Birchanger Wood Trust and is passionate about maintaining public access to the countryside which she believes makes a valuable contribution to a healthy life style.

John Salmon (Stansted North)

 He lives in the Bentfield Green area and has been on the Parish Council for over twenty five years. He is a long term supporter of the Scout movement.

Matthew Jessup (Stansted North)

Matthew has lived in Stansted for 18 years, is married with two children. He has run his own IT consulting business for the last 16 years. He is a governor at St Mary’s Primary School a, a member of the Parochial Church Council at St. John’s and First Responder. He believes that Stansted has an extremely strong community spirit and, is keen to ensure that this spirit is not only maintained, but nurtured and built upon.

Peter Jones (Stansted North)

Peter has lived in the village since 1973. He has been on the Council since 1976 and has twice been chairman (1981-84 & 1991-96). He has been Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee for many years. His main purpose in being a member is to sustain the village as a separate, viable and caring community.  

Jackie Cheetham (Takeley)

Deputy Leader of the Council - Chairman of the Planning Committee I am also the Councils spokesperson for avaiation. Locally I have used my District Councillor grant of £2,000 this year to help projects in the villages of Takeley, Great Canfield, Little Canfield at the Churches, Chapel, and Great Canfield Parish Council tree planting and signs community centre and groups.
