Paul Simper lives in Newport with his wife, two sons and a very energetic Cocker Spaniel!  Paul went to school in Saffron Walden and has family connections with the area that go back almost forty years.  Paul is a Management Consultant with over 10 years of experience.

I am a barrister specialising in the sale and regulation of goods, property and services.  As an experienced Councillor in Uttlesford, I much enjoyed serving the next-door ward of Stansted North & Ugley, where my wife Louise and I live with our three young children.

Liam Hithersay (Elsenham & Henham)

I am delighted to have the opportunity to represent Elsenham & Henham on Uttlesford Council. Just to give you a bit of background I have been living in the area for the past five years and last year moved to Elsenham. I am married, we have a nine month child and another  on the way. Professionally I am a Business Development Director in the Social Housing sector. As a result I am in constant contact with Local Authorities and so have direct experience in many related housing issues.

Tom Flack (Hatfield Heath)

Thomas, 26, has lived at Little Garnetts since he was three months old.Thomas says “I am delighted to have been chosen to stand as the Conservative Candidate for Hatfield Heath and White Roding.  I am one of thirty nine Conservatives contesting every District Council seat at the May election.New housing is pushed on us by Central Government but I am determined that infrastructure, schools and the community must be protected. Our piece of Green Belt must be defended.

Jeremy Rose (Newport)

Jeremy has lived in Newport for over 20 years, and in that time has developed strong personal and professional ties to the area. In addition to working as your elected District Councillor he’s both contributed to and spearheaded many local community projects, as well as setting up and managing a small business in Newport itself. Jeremy’s three children attended school in Rickling and Newport, and his daughter has married into a local family.

I am delighted to have been adopted as a candidate for Shire ward. I am a Saffron Walden local, having schooled at RAB and the County High before going on to read Politics at Leeds University. Now 29, I work for an international IT and software group specialising in servicing local Councils, which gives me useful insight to the challenges and opportunities they face.

By way of background I have been living in Uttlesford since 1991, am married and have three children who went to school at Newport Grammar School. My career started early as I left school at 16 to take an apprenticeship in the army (REME)  where I qualified as a vehicle mechanic. After eight years and a tour in Northern Ireland I  moved into the Financial Services sector.
