I have been proud to represent residents of The Chesterfords since 2007 and look forward to meeting the residents of the newly formed ward following the boundary changes.
I have lived in Gt Chesterford most of my life and have worked in Saffron Walden all of my career. Before starting a family business in 1992, I worked for a local builders merchant followed by a local kitchen company. I now also have a small business in the town centre.
I understand the challenges of both residents and businesses in Uttlesford because I live there. I have three children, one now at university and two still in full time secondary education. I also have a husband, Antony, who has supported me with my Council work for which I am so grateful.
I do believe that our District Council, under The Conservative administration, has gone from strength to strength since 2007 from a very difficult position we inherited. I am glad to have been a part of this Council and the valuable services it provides, and hope to carry on with the work we have started after the next election.
As Cabinet Member for Housing at UDC I am working to help those in housing need across the whole of Uttlesford and we are proud of the fact that we were one of the first councils to start a programme of building new council homes.
