Conservatives successfully achieved a 3% cut in Uttlesford’s share of the Council Tax at a Council meeting last night. The proposal to cut Council tax was also supported by the majority of the WAR/RFU Councillors present who even went against their party’s opposition to the cut, speaking in support of the Conservatives proposed budget. At the meeting Councillor Chambers also revealed that Council Tax relief remained at 87.5% for the poorest families in the District despite claims from WAR/RFU that the relief had been scrapped.
